ADAS Calibration After Windshield Replacement
Most vehicles manufactured after 2016 have at least one camera or sensor mounted to or near the windshield. These systems — collectively called Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) — control features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and pedestrian detection.
When a windshield is replaced, the camera’s field of view changes — even fractionally. This small shift can cause ADAS to misread road conditions, trigger false alerts, or fail to respond in an emergency. ADAS recalibration is not optional on equipped vehicles — it’s a safety requirement.
